Have you ever ...

Have you ever had a feeling?  A feeling so strong that you just can't shake it?!  A feeling like your whole world is going to come crashing down on you, and that everything you know to be true will then be a lie?

That's the feeling I have.  It's deep, in the pit of my stomach.  It's something that I can't shake.  I don't even know how to put it into words.  It's like a feeling of impending doom.  That sounds horrible right?  I know.  I don't like that I have this feeling, but I do.

I don't know who to talk to about it, because I don't want to seem paranoid.  I don't know if I'd even know HOW to talk about it.  I don't know if I can even say what the feeling is about.  It's just there.  That much I know.  I know that it's there, and I don't like it.  Not one single bit ...

A weekend away ...

This is something that many people take for granted.  I say this because, my husband and I haven't had a weekend away, just the two of us, in a very long time.  It's possible that the last time was our honeymoon.  OK. That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I'm sure it's not too far off.

So we're considering, since we in a new state, dropping the kids off for the weekend with their grandma, and just taking off.  Driving up the coast maybe?  Going over to the casino in Florence.  Who knows what we'll do.

I'll tell you one thing for sure.  Sometime soon, we're going to stay here Sea Sprite at Haystack Rock this place looks amazing!!  If you don't follow my link, check this out.  The room that WILL be mine!!!  They call it Haystack Suite 3.  Oh my word.  It looks absolutely heavenly!!  I could truly stay here and forget about EVERYTHING else.  I want to, badly.

Isn't it beautiful?!

Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach Oregon
I mean, who wouldn't love waking up to the beauty of the ocean, and this magnificent piece of God created beauty ...

Could you imagine the level of relaxation you'd be able to achieve?!  I can hardly wait!!

I don't know when we'll go, but mark my words, we ARE going, and I WILL stay in THAT room and wake up to this, every single morning we're there!!  That much is a promise I'm making to myself.

Until next time ...

As if I'm not busy enough

I've decided, just now, at 12:38am, that I"m going to try something new.  Something that I think my kids will get a kick out of, and hopefully will be something that we can do together more often.

In my insomniatic (did I just make up a word) web searching, I came across pictures that were quite interesting.  Pictures of rainbow cakes.  When I first heard the term 'rainbow cake' I had NO idea what people were talking about.  Since then, I've come to know that the 'traditional' rainbow cake looks like this

**Please not that this is NOT my picture**

This is not the type of cake I want to make.  Though it's beautiful, in every single way possible, I'm not very good at stacking cake, nor am I very good at working with fondant.  And a cake like this, in my opinion (which lets face it is damn important) should be covered in fondant.  I'm totally kidding by the way, about my opinions being important to anyone but myself.  I'm not one for pushing my opinion on everyone else.

Back to it.

**again, not my picture**
That is the cake I want to make.  A swirly, rainbowy,(ha! Another word I've made up!  I'm on a roll) beautiful mess of a cake.  One that's going to be fun.  Both to make and to eat!!  I can't wait to try it!

When I make it, if it turns out the way I'm hoping it will (duh, like the picture right there) then I'll share the recipe!!

Until next time

Don't bite off more than you can chew

I'm sure everyone, everywhere has heard those words at least once in their lives.  Either by a teacher, a friend, a parent, maybe even by that little voice that lives inside your own head.  Lord knows I've heard those words more than I can count, and usually, I'm pretty good about taking that very advice.

That is, until now.

I feel like I've bitten off the whole thing, what ever that is.  I'm so overloaded with everything that's going on right now.  Mainly school, but family too.  Well, not really family, but kind of.  My little family is doing well.  We've just moved into our own place, and things are going great.  Things with my mom have been kind of strained, and maybe that's just on my part.  I'm still feeling a little betrayed and hurt by her rejection.  But another phrase that's said a lot, hindsight is 20 / 20 .. really is true.

I see now that my mother said no to my request, because there was something better for us.  But it still stings, if even just a little.  I'll get over it eventually.

My biggest issue right now .. is school.  I'm attempting to take 4 classes this term.  I'm as overloaded as one person can be.  13 credits, 2 children, a husband, and sleep.  How am I supposed to juggle it all?  I'm not.  I've let 2 of the classes that I"m taking fall behind.  My writing class is one that I'm going to have to re-take.  There's no way I can catch up.  At least it's an online class, and I don't have to look anyone in the face when I fail ...

My attitude has just really gone kaput in the last few weeks.  The drive and determination that I had when I started this journey, and dwindled.  Drastically.  I need help, but I'm not sure how to get it ..

Until next time ...

Things, they are a-changing...

Changing big time.

The last time I blogged about my family moving, we had quite a few mishaps.  You'd think we wouldn't want to do it again anytime soon.  Technically, we're moving, because we're changing our residence.  However .. we're only moving a mile down the road.  So it's not a huge move like we made before.

Dan, Mikaila, Chloe, and I are moving into our first place here in Eugene.  A place that's all ours.  We've been living with my brother and his family since we moved here in March.  We've all been overly crowded for almost a year .. and now .. it's over.

I have to say .. I'm going to miss the crowdedness .. a little.

We wouldn't be where we are right now if my brother and his wife (who also happens to be my bestest friend in the whole wide world) hadn't opened our home to us 10 months ago.  I'll forever be grateful to them for their generosity and their kindness.

But I'm so excited.  I do have to say that I'm NOT looking forward to having to buy everything new.  Well .. let me rephrase that.  I AM looking forward to getting all new stuff, but I'm not looking forward to spending all the money.

You see when we moved from Ceres to Eugene (a move that's more that 600 miles by the way) we got rid of everything we had. With the exception of our computer, and our beds and of course our clothes.  We gave everything we had to my mother-in-law, because she made the move as well.  And since she lived in our home in Ceres, she had NOTHING of her own, and neither of us that the money to completely re-furnish her apartment, so we just gave her all of our stuff.  After all, we weren't really going to have a place to put it, and we couldn't use it right away anyway .. so we didn't see the big deal.

Now .. I wish we'd thought things through just a bit.  But it will all work out.  I know this.  God is good, all the time, All the time, God is good!!

We go tomorrow morning to pick up our keys. So in a little more than 12 hours I'll have the keys to my first home in Eugene Oregon.  I'm soooooo excited.  And then .. we're going SHOPPING!!

I'll talk lots and lots of pictures!!!

Until Next Time ..
