Auld Lang Syne

It's that time of year again.

The time of the year when the hustle and bustle of Christmas has started to taper off, and the excitement and wonderment of the New Year begins.

It's a time that, for myself personally, isn't one that's looked forward to. I hate New Years. I never get to enjoy any parties, or what-nots that might be going on elsewhere. I always get anxious, and nervous, and extremely antsy before midnight rolls around and that big crystal ball drops.

Some people might think I'm weird, but I honestly don't understand where all the hype comes from. I literally spend the entire night of New Years Eve walking on egg shells. I guess I might have a little panic disorder, at least when it comes to this time of the year. Just another excuse for people to get blazing drunk, extremely stupid, and even more thoughtless about those around them.

Let's take a look at the top 10 events (of my life anyway) of 2008
  1. First things first, my second beautiful daughter was born in February. One that we thought we'd never have, what a way to start things off.
  2. 5 days after my daughter was born, my beautiful neice joined her cousins. 2 big events right off the bat.
  3. I started working in May. My daughter wasn't even 3 months old, and I had to leave her to go back to work.
  4. My oldest daughter graduated from Kindergarten. She was so proud, and so was I.
  5. That same daughter, started 1st grade. Man .. I'm feeling really old.
  6. I gained everything that I lost (and then some) after I had my daughter. I feel extremely fat and disgusting.
  7. September 11, I lost my job. That's turning out to just be a cursed day.
  8. September 30, my husband and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. A milestone quite a few people thought we wouldn't see.
  9. I'm staying home with the kids now, and I feel overworked, underpaid, and way underappreciated. But I'm too afraid to speak up and say anything.
  10. The time of year that I dread the most, is here. Oy vey ...
Just in time for me to start the visious cycle all over again...

Until next time ...
